Tomas Kutschy Joins the CarpPro Pro Team
CarpPro is always looking for the most talented anglers to bring the benefit of their experience, skills and expertise to our readers and fans, and once again we are proud to announce Tomas Kutschy has joined our team of pro anglers.
For someone still so young, Ontario, Canada-based Kutschy has got plenty of carp fishing experience. Tomas was introduced to carp fishing by his step dad in the Fall of 93 and, he says, “instantly became obsessed with the mystique of big carp!”
Tomas grew up fishing the Humber and Credit rivers and fishing year round at warm water discharge bays of Lake Ontario, where he set multiple PBs, including two commons of 35lbs 3oz. In 1999, Tomas met his angling mentor, Fritz Vatter.
Tomas explains, “Fritz got me involved in the Shore Tournaments Series (STS), the Match Angling Club of Ontario (MACO), the London Carp Group, MFC, CAN-AM & Vatters Edge. This introduction really shaped my approach to carp fishing and using finesse presentations. I’m meticulous with my rigs.”
In addition to to targeting specimen carp, Tomas is an accomplished match angler and is equally adept at pole fishing, quiver tipping and feeder fishing. Tomas is constantly improving his skills and learning new techniques that enable him to promote fishing in the most positive light possible. Tomas helps other anglers and promotes proper fish care both in person and online with his YouTube videos. Later this year, Tomas will be bringing his video skills to CarpPro readers with a series of how-to presentations on fish care and rig ties, in addition to helping test baits and tackle and provide reviews and reports. In the meantime, Tomas will be closing out the Summer and Fall and chasing a new PB before the big freeze, fishing the Great Lakes, Erie and Ontario, in addition to Lake Simcoe, Rice Lake and the mighty St. Lawrence. Tomas is determined to catch that forty before the water stops wobbling!
